Under 6′s Rugby Training
Becki’s family are really into their Rugby. Becki played Rugby whilst in school, Becki’s brother plays Rugby, and Becki’s dad played for Harlequins, coached the Bahamas International team, and coached the Redingensians R.F.C.
There has always been quite a lot of banter between the Grand Parents, with my parents dressing Theo in Welsh Rugby kit, and Becki’s parents dressing Theo in the England Rugby kit. My parents really aren’t into their Rugby, but Becki’s parents get so wound up it’s hilarious! They were fuming after my parents put the pics of him in the Welsh gear on facebook last year. That said, both sets of parents do get on quite well
With Theo turning 4 last week, Becki’s was really keen to have Theo start Rugby training. This begins next Sunday with the Wilmslow RUFC under 6′s. Becki think it will be good to get him involved in a physical sport with some structured training, and that it’s a good idea to start them early. Personally I don’t see how kids that young wil pick it up, but I’m more than willing to give it a shot.
Wilmsow RUFC describe it as non-contact training with the emphasis on the kids having fun and picking up some of the basics. It’s the first session on Sunday 4th of September 2012, so I think I’ll miss my session with the Alderley Edge cycle club to see how he gets on.
